Meet Our Speakers
Joshua A. Carr, PhD, DNP, CRNA
Joshua A. Carr started his career in health care with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from California State University Long Beach. He then served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic and Critical Care Nurse and attained the rank of Captain. During his time in the Army, Captain Carr graduated from the UNC School of Nursing with Honors and Distinction. He left active duty to attend the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia in Pasadena, California where he earned a master’s degree. Recently, Dr. Carr completed Doctorates in both Nursing Practice and Research. He has been in clinical anesthesia practice for fifteen years and has twice served as President of the Kaiser Permanente Nurse Anesthetists Association. He is currently on the faculty of the University of Southern California where he is the course lead for Basic and Advanced Anesthesia Principles and Pathophysiology.
Dr. Carr will be presenting Putting sacred cows out to pasture: Shining the light of evidence on some of our deeply held anesthesia beliefs and misbeliefs at our Annual Meeting.
Audra Kennedy, MSN, CRNA
Audra Kennedy is a Past President of KPNAA and has been a Staff CRNA at Downey Medical Center since 2007. Additionally, she began working independent practice in LA and Orange County in 2022. Audra obtained her MSN and completed CRNA training at UNC- Charlotte, NC and completed her DNAP at Missouri State University in May of 2023. Audra has been providing anesthesia for over 17 years and has a keen interest in relationship building to bring people together and move the CRNA profession forward. For fun, Audra enjoys traveling, yoga, music and art events, wine tasting and participating in surgical mission work to provide care for those less fortunate.

Crystal Trinooson, CRNA
Crystal Trinooson is a CRNA at Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California. She received her Master of Science in Anesthesiology from the University of Southern California in 2012. Her research interests include hemodynamic monitoring and its application in perioperative goal-directed fluid therapy.
Ms. Trinooson will speak on Goal-Directed Fluid Therapy: A Practical Review.
